Me,Me,Me

Hey Everyone:
Considering that many people do look at my blog I feel as if it is only fair to tell a little bit about myself. I'm Megan Smith and I'm exactly 11 and a half. My father owns a farm and my mother well, she doesn't do much but work around the house. My favorite subject is History because I enjoy learning about the past and how the land that I and many other live in now, became the United States of America. I have a little brother and his name is Aiden, he's the best. One of the things that I want to do when I grow up is travel around the world and learn different language's.
Chow for now,

P.S I'm not allowed to post a photo of myself because my mother thinks that creepy men are going to look at it. Sorry folks.

14th Amendment

Hello Everyone,
Another Amendment has been passed today and now its the 14th Amendment. It clearly states that if you were born or naturalized in the United States you are a citizen. Again, people are starting to make a fuss out of it but mostly white people. I asked my mom about why she was so angry about it and she said she didn't want to talk about it and that I wouldn't understand because I was too young. I am not young, I'm exactly eleven and a half. Anyway, keep checking my blog for more information

13th Amendment

Hello :
Guess what. Congress has just passed the 13th Amendment which states that slavery is to be abolished throughout the United States. A lot of people are making a fuss over it but I just don't understand why. A lot of my friends of my school keep pestering me on whether I like it or not and to be honest I don't know. Hmm, I guess this is something to think about.

Decision Making Time

Hello Everyone:
So a if you looked at my first post about the crazy train ride it was only a few days later until the Supreme Court Justices made their decisions and denied Plessy's argument 7 to 1. The lone dissenter was the one and only John Marshall Harlan. While the majority of the justices wrote that in no such way was Mr. Plessy's 13th and 14th Amendment rights violated. So yeah that's basically it, keep an eye out for more posts that are on the way about this case.
Bye

One Heck of A Train Ride

Hey y'all. You are never going to believe what happened today! So my mom and I were riding on the train together, like any other person would. Then all of a sudden a black man decided to come into OUR car; yeah our car! He must been on sometin because everybody knows that white people were only allowed to stay in the car we sat at. Everybody was lookin' at him crazy like hoping that he would realize that he's in the wrong car. Soon after that the police came and asked him for his name and age. He said that his name was Homer Plessy and that if the police officers would arrest him they would be violating he's 13th and 14th Amendment! Now that's crazy talk and I'm glad that the police officers didn't believe him. At the end the police officers took him away and I never saw that black man again. Now that was one heck tic train ride!
